La Choza

La Choza

La Choza is an authentic Mexican restaurant located in the heart of the North Laine area. It is just as quirky and colourful as the bustling streets and characters in our city.

The offering at La Choza Brighton is simple, affordable and delicious combining classic Mexican dishes with tasty cocktails.

La Choza means The Hut, when translated into Mexican. La Choza is a highly regarded restaurant in Brighton which has been around since 2012.

One of my go to places to eat in Brighton. Consistently tasty comforting food, wonderful atmosphere and friendly welcoming staff. I have a soft spot for the quesadillas and don’t get me started on the range of margaritas (very dangerously tasty cocktail list)

I can’t recommend La Choza enough if you’re looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food. The food is fresh and full of flavour. The atmosphere is fun and family friendly. The staff are bubbly and you’re guaranteed to have a good time. Great vegan options and lots of delicious options for meat lovers as well. As well as great food, they do delicious margaritas as well and have a very decent selection of beers and wines.

me and my partner visited this restaurant for lunch before checking into out hotel for my birthday. We had an HOUR AND A HALF WAIT for some topped nachos and the burrito bowl.
During our wait we weren’t checked on by any of the staff and no apologies were given for why the food was taking so long.
We sat and saw at least 4 different groups who came in 20/ 30 mins after us get served before we both did.
this time cannot even be justified as the meals we ordered where simple and shouldn’t have taken more than 30 mins.

I would’ve been a lot happier if the food we got was delicious but the only barely hot thing on my plate was the cheese. I was given bland and cold pulled pork.

They’re lucky my partner keeps me grounded otherwise i would’ve walked out and taken their cactus plant with me!!!!!!!

The family love Mexican food, this place opened 5 years ago and we regulally pop into it if we are around the North Laine area. The first thing you notice walking to the restaurant is the amazing bright colours on the outside of the restaurant, this continues inside and throughout the restaurant. This place seems busy most times of the day but if a table is free shortly you can wait around the reception area or outside if the weather is not bad. While waiting we always try their selection of salsa dips and corn chips (go careful with the hot ones).
They have plenty of gluten free options and simple tasty kids options on the menu. The wife comments on how good the margaritas are there. Depending on what you order the flavours and heat coming through in the dishes are what you want from a really good Mexican restaurant. My wife loves the fish dishes they have on the menu and I always opt for they’re amazing burritos.

As a vegan the option is limited but it’s still really good for a once in a while dinner, I love Mexican green rice and wish I could get the stuff I do at home to taste this good. Margarita’s and burritos are just a brilliant way to start an evening and there’s something really fun and social about this little restaurant.

Me and my family love this place and are pleased they are opening a new branch on Western road. You are greeted outside with the amazing smell of there meats which they slow cooker and smoke on site. The quality of the food is always amazing and fresh and fantastic value for money with an ever changing specials board. We choose to go here as our 9 year old loves the colourful interior and it was a great way to get her interested in different food from around the world. I can’t find fault with this place.
