Best Pubs in Brighton Winners

We asked you to vote for the best pubs Brighton has to offer; having more pubs than days of the year, this was no small task for those who wish to be scrupulous. There is a unique combination of elements that makes a pub work, and each has an individual take on what that looks like.

Loud Shirt Beer sponsored the 2019 BRAVO Best Pub category. Join us in saying ‘cheers’ to your call on the best pubs in Brighton.

1st place
The winner of Best Pub is The Robin Hood in Norfolk Place, where owners Chris and Anna have been familiar faces behind the pumps for over ten years. While society suffers from increasing loneliness and homogeneity of choice, you chose a pub that is community spirited to the core, with all the lumps, bumps and quirks of a time honoured legend.
2nd place
"If you build it, they will come", so says the mysterious voice inspiring Kevin Costner to build a baseball diamond in the '89 movie Field of Dreams. Perhaps the same voice spoke to the proprietors of The Urchin, who improved on the idea of a baseball pitch by replacing it with a relaxed, friendly community pub. Nestled in the backstreets of Hove, The Urchin has a microbrewery and over 120 frequently changing craft ales on the menu. And came you did. The Urchin are also 2018 BRAVO winners for best pub grub.
3rd place
In your continued celebration of grass root boozers, the iconic Prince Albert made its way into the top three for this year's Best pubs in Brighton. As both the independent music and pub scenes continue to fight for survival, this vote is heartwarming. Inside and out The Prince Albert is vibrant, eclectic and lively, your endorsement for such venues is worth more than gold for the spirit of the city.
