Welcome to our second cheese, meat and wine matching evening.
Cheese is one of the many wonders of the world; meat has been part of our basic diet from the beginning, now we want to share with you why they pair so well with wine.
We will be matching eight wines (including foreign wines we have carefully selected for our shop) with eight different meats and cheeses.
Friday 1st February 7.00pm - 9.00pm (Wine bar until 10.30pm)

Louise, who grew up with the tastes of the Philippines and founded Brighton’s Mestiza Filipina, and Sam, former head chef at 64 Degrees, are the super-enthusiastic teachers behind this workshop. Let them introduce you to the spicy, sweet, salty and sour flavours of Filipino cuisine!
Starting off with a whole chicken you will be talked through the leave-no-waste techniques that will see you producing five Filipino family favourites from the one carcass: Adobo (made with sugar cane vinegar, garlic, bay and soy); Adobo sa gata (with coconut milk); two fabulous broths – Sinigang and Tinola; and Chicken Inasal, using a spicy citrus marinade.
You will learn how to make the best rice and end the class with an amazing feast – and still have some to take home.
Tickets for this event include:
professional cookery tuition
all ingredients and equipment
hot drinks throughout the session and a welcome glass of fizz
a full meal at our sociable dining table (you are welcome to bring your own drinks to enjoy with the meal)
all recipes from the class.
Thanks to Louise & Sam for generously donating their time for this event. All profits raised from this class support our community cookery activities – where everyone can experience the benefits of cooking and eating together, regardless of finance, confidence or ability.
