5 Steps for Promoting your Sustainability Badge

Congratulations on embracing the sustainability checklist, and a huge applause for your continued commitment to your sustainability journey!

To make the most of your efforts from a marketing perspective, we recommend working through the checklist of activities below. This will help ensure you’re effectively communicating your sustainability practices to both current and potential customers, positioning your brand as a leader in responsible practices.

Step 1. Link from your site to the Sustainable Restaurant Guide

As a newly featured restaurant on the Sustainable Restaurant Guide, we highly recommend promoting this achievement! By mentioning on your website that you’re recognised as a sustainable venue, you add credibility to your commitment and your practices which show that the steps you are making count.

To maximise impact, consider linking to the Sustainable Restaurant Guide directly, You can do that via a simple text link or by displaying the Sustainability Badge we provided, like in the illustration below.

Step 2. Put your Sustainablity Badge on Your Website

We recommend adding a dedicated section on your website to highlight your sustainable practices and proudly display your Sustainable Restaurant Guide badge.

This could be a new page under a menu navigation item like “Sustainability,” or it could simply be an update to your “About Us” section.

The key is ensuring that it’s visible to your customers. By featuring your sustainability efforts and showcasing the badge, you’ll provide clear, accessible information that demonstrates your commitment people, planet and profit, giving customers confidence in your brand’s values.

We have given you an simple illustration just here.

Step 3. Post about your Sustainability Badge in Social Media

Be sure to use your sustainability badge across all your social media platforms and schedule regular posts to share this significant achievement with your audience.

You can feature the badge in Instagram posts or stories every couple of months, linking to your sustainable practices or values page. It can also appear in your Facebook feed or LinkedIn. Ask your social media manager add this to your content planner for consistent promotion.

To keep things fresh, try showcasing suppliers you work with, tagging them so they can engage with your posts. Don’t forget to tag Restaurants Brighton—we’ll amplify your message by resharing your posts to our audience!

Step 4. Post about your Sustainability Badge in your newsletter

If you have a regular newsletter, make sure to feature the sustainability badge as a key part of your news to highlight your commitment to sustainability. Don’t just mention that you’re sustainable—explain why you are and what sustainable practices you have implemented. Include the sustainability badge, perhaps alongside an additional image or two, and provide a link to the Sustainable Restaurant Guide for more details. This will not only inform your customers but also add credibility to your efforts, encouraging them to support your sustainability journey.

Step 5. Display Your Sustainability Badge Window Sticker Proudly

Display your sustainability badge proudly in your window to let everyone know about your commitment to sustainability. This is especially impactful as customers enter your venue or walk by, enhancing their perception of your business.

You can also create a reel for your social media or simply take a picture of it in your window and post it in your stories.
