Paris Wine Bar is one of Hove’s most loved independent wine bars and bistros, renowned for its warm atmosphere, exceptional service, extensive wine list, seasonal food, and beautiful garden setting. Established in 2011, we’ve built our reputation on making every guest feel at home.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our leadership team and help deliver outstanding hospitality every day.
This Role Includes
As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the Manager and owner to oversee daily operations, lead our front-of-house team, and ensure every guest enjoys a memorable experience.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a busy hospitality environment, enjoys leading by example, and has a genuine passion for food, wine, and customer service.
The Role
- Support the day-to-day running of the venue
- Lead, motivate, and develop the front-of-house team
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve guest issues professionally
- Manage shifts, opening and closing procedures
- Assist with staff training and performance management
- Help maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and compliance
- Support stock control, ordering, and cash handling procedures
- Drive sales through excellent product knowledge and upselling
- Ensure smooth service during busy periods
Skills Required
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Supervisor, Duty Manager, or Assistant Manager in hospitality
- Is a confident leader with excellent communication skills
- Has a passion for wine, cocktails, and great food
- Can stay calm and organised under pressure
- Leads by example and inspires others
- Has strong attention to detail
- Is flexible and available to work evenings and weekends
- Wine knowledge (WSET qualifications are a bonus)
- Experience within wine bars, restaurants, or premium hospitality venues
- Personal Licence Holder (preferred but not essential)
