This Role Includes
We’re looking for an experienced Chef Trainer to take ownership of the kitchen and help shape our in-house training programme.• In the first six months, you’ll run the kitchen day-to-day, be responsible for orders & prep of deli items and work with the owner/ exec chef to develop menus. You will also have dedicated time to design our training programme, creating materials and planning sessions.
• After that, you’ll take responsibility for trainees coming through the kitchen, supporting them to gain practical skills and basic qualifications.
• There will be opportunities to grow the training and mentoring side of the role as the social enterprise expands.
This is a hands-on, varied role for someone who loves seasonal high quality cooking, teaching, and making a real difference in people’s lives.
Skills Required
• Professional culinary qualification desirable (Level 3 NVQ/SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• At least 3–5 years’ experience in a professional kitchen with supervisory or training experience.
• Food safety certificate (Level 2 or 3 for catering).
• Teaching/training qualification (Level 3 Award in Education & Training, PTLLS, or TAQA/assessor qualification) is preferred, although for a strong chef candidate there is possibility to complete on the job training.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy kitchen.
• Passion for mentoring, teaching, and supporting people from diverse backgrounds.
Additional Information
This is a daytime role, with mostly Monday to Friday working hours.
