Overview
At Kemptown Project, we run some of Brighton’s favourite independent restaurants, and one of the UK’s only certified organic coffee roastery’s. Our goal is not only to create and sustain a group of restaurants that Brightonian’s are proud of but to continue sharing our profits with social projects in Rwanda and the UK. We’re the oldest speciality coffee house and roastery in Brighton, with this year seeing our 21st Birthday. The roastery is growing massively and we now supply hundreds of businesses in Brighton and further afield, as well as to many homes all over the country.
This Role Includes
This is a unique multi faceted role for an individual who is passionate about coffee and customer focused. The role will is envisaged as Monday – Friday 7.30 to 3.30 although some flexibility may be required
You will start at the café dial in the coffee, ensure the standards are set, the team are ready and make sure the team are confident at producing and talking about the coffee. Once the café requirements are fulfilled the remainder of the day will be spent in the roastery. Here roles will vary quite considerably from packing and delivering coffee. It will also involve Roasting, quality control and training wholesale customers.
Skills Required
We are looking for someone who is a confident, skilled barista trainer. As a small, sustainable business we are looking for someone to grow with us.
These are just some of the roles you will carry out in a typical week
-Fulfilling the weekly roasting needs for wholesale and online customers
-Maintaining a par level of roasted coffee
-Opening our flagship café and making sure coffee is always presented to its maximum potential
-Train in house and wholesale customer teams to produce Redroaster coffee
-Work with roastery team to fulfil wholesale/online orders – this will involve roasting, bagging and delivery
-Maintain diligence and organic standards
-Maintain and update roast profiles and QC
