Terre à Terre is a 100-cover, independently owned restaurant with a long-standing reputation for leading the way in vegetarian and vegan cooking. Known across the UK for our imaginative, high-quality dishes, we offer a dynamic kitchen environment that values consistency, creativity, and progression.
We’re looking for a committed Sous Chef who brings energy, focus, and team spirit. This role offers hands-on involvement across all aspects of kitchen operations- from service and planning to stock and mentoring- in a fast-paced, supportive setting. You’ll work alongside the Sr team and owners to ensure smooth daily service, uphold high standards, and guide the team with integrity.
This Role Includes
• Work closely with the Sr team and owners to deliver consistent, well-executed dishes
• Lead and support junior chefs during prep and service
• Monitor quality, efficiency, hygiene, and kitchen organisation
• Manage stock, ordering, and equipment with precision
• Maintain clear communication and a respectful team dynamic
Skills Required
• Proven experience in a professional kitchen at Jr Sous level
• Strong culinary and organisational skills
• Confidence managing staff and contributing to team development
• Calm leadership with attention to detail, timing, and standards
• Interest in refined vegetarian and vegan cooking — experience not essential, training provided
