The Sportsman Pub in Goddards Green, West Sussex. A fresh take on a classic country pub, nestled at the foot of the South Downs National Park. This picturesque setting is the backdrop to compliment good food, a fabulous selection of beers & wine and great memories.

Just 15 minutes away from Brighton & just off the A23, it isn’t far to travel to the countryside for a real sense of escapism. We have a large beer garden for those hot summer months, or two cosy log fires for those cold winter evenings.

This Role Includes

Sous Chef

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team! Experience necessary & must be used to working in a fast paced pub kitchen environment. The job requires attention to detail, good hygiene levels, a knowledge & understanding of allergies & dietary requirements. As a Sous Chef, you will be working along side the head chef to support the day to day running of the kitchen, responsibilities for stock & ordering, as be part of the team to create seasonal, interesting menus.

Full time position, contract of 45 hours & week with paid over time. Hours over Wednesday to Sunday (Monday & Tuesday off) with paid holiday allowance. Starting salary is flexible depending on qualifications & experience.

Skills Required

Level 1 & 2 NVQ catering college / BTEC or equivalent preferred but not essential

Additional Information

Must have own means of travel due to rural location

Shifts vary from split shifts during the week, and all day long shifts over the weekends
