Meet Hayley from Uber Eats

We chat with Hayley from Uber Eats about what makes Brighton such a great place to work, why she loves being involved with Brighton’s BRAVOs, and her thoughts on the city’s thriving hospitality scene. Hayley also shares her top takeaway pick, and it’s a good one – Yeastie Boys!

What do you do?

My role as Account Manager for Brighton involves getting out and about and meeting with local restaurant owners and managers to chat about how we can work together to help them get the most out of working with Uber Eats.

This could be discussing new menu items, menu images, market trends, their goals for the restaurant and marketing strategies with Uber Eats and beyond.

What’s the best bit about working for Uber Eats in Brighton?

Brighton has an amazingly diverse food scene, with so much to showcase. Since joining the team, I’ve met so many great people with such interesting reasons for opening their businesses. Hearing the dedication and passion that goes into the creation of their menus and food experiences is eye opening.

Uber Eats is now an integral part of the BRAVO Awards, what part of BRAVO 2025 are you most looking forward to?

When I found out I got to be a part of the BRAVO awards as part of my new role, I was so excited!

If you live in Brighton and are a bit of a foodie then you know about the BRAVOs.

It’s such a great moment to see really cool restaurants showcased and for eaters to become aware of any new and upcoming restaurants to go and try.

This year, I’m really looking forward to meeting more of the restaurant owners behind their brands.

Tell us about the challenges facing hospitality today.

Brighton’s food scene is buzzing, but like anywhere, restaurants are feeling the pressure. Rising costs, competition, and customers wanting affordable, convenient options are making things a bit tricky. But at Uber Eats, we’re all about helping local spots tackle these challenges head-on.

With ingredient and staffing costs on the rise, margins are getting tighter. And with so many amazing places to eat in Brighton, standing out can be tough! On top of that, diners today are looking for fast, good-quality food that’s also kind to their wallets.

That’s where we come in. We’re working closely with local restaurants to help them connect with more customers through special deals and promotions. We also offer tools that make it easier to manage everything from delivery operations to menu pricing. Ordering through our app is simple for the eater – just quick and easy food for the customer. And for the restaurants, we help them create offers that today’s more price conscious consumer can get excited about.

We also use cool features like personalised recommendations, which not only help customers find new faves but also give restaurants a chance to build loyal, repeat business.

We’re here to support Brighton’s food scene and help local restaurants thrive, no matter the challenges they’re facing.

Favourite takeaway?

This is so dependent on what I fancy, and living in Brighton does mean we are spoilt for choice. I have to say since Yeastie Boys have come on the scene I’ve become obsessed with their pizzas and it’s always in the debate when we’re deciding what to order in my house!

My favourite changes all the time between No Sleep til Brooklyn to Flamin’ Lips to Meat Feastie Boys. The parmesan crust really makes the pizza something special as well!
