Goldstone Rum Reaches 6 Awards

Goldstone Rum Triumphs at London Spirits Competition 2024

Goldstone Rum, a Sussex-based distillery, has won three new awards at the London Spirits Competition 2024.

This achievement brings their total awards to six since the family business was launched in December 2022.

The rums recognised this year include a silver medal for Goldstone’s Dark Rum and bronze medals for both Goldstone Spiced and Goldstone Ginger & Lime.

Goldstone Rum wins more awards

The distillery, run by husband and wife team Georgina and John Bowell, started as a lockdown project inspired by their passion for food and drink.

Determined to produce a rum free from artificial additives, they meticulously researched ingredients and focused on using only natural fruits and spices to flavour their rums without any sugar to the bottle which is unusual in the rum industry.

In just over a year, Goldstone Rum has made its way onto the shelves of over 100 restaurants, pubs, and off-licenses across the South East.

Exceptional taste profiles

The judges praised the award-winning rums for their exceptional taste profiles.

The silver-winning Dark Rum was noted for its

“Well-balanced profile with notes of toffee, caramel, and sticky toffee pudding, presenting an elegant and generous taste profile.”

The bronze-winning Spiced Rum was described as

“Packed with dry spice, vanilla, and orange peel, bringing natural sweetness from cinnamon, muscovado sugar, and raisins, with hints of cinnamon, sugar, honey, and a touch of wood.”

The Ginger & Lime variety received compliments for being

“A harmonious blend of lime peel, freshly grated ginger, and premium rum, with subtle herbaceous and sugarcane undertones.”

Experiential Rum Tours in Henfield

Located in Henfield, the distillery offers tours and a popular rum school experience, where guests can distil their own unique rum recipe under the guidance of Goldstone’s expert distillers. This immersive experience has become a favourite among rum enthusiasts.
