Michelin-Starred Chef Jean Delport Joins Prept. Foundation as First Ambassador

Prept. Foundation, the national charity dedicated to inspiring a generation to live healthier, happier lives through food, has announced Michelin-starred chef Jean Delport as its first ambassador.

Star of BBC’s Great British Menu

Delport, Executive Chef at the acclaimed Restaurant Interlude at Leonardslee Gardens in West Sussex, is renowned for his culinary skill, commitment to sustainability, and passion for mentoring young talent. His recent success on BBC’s Great British Menu—with two dishes selected for the banquet- has cemented his reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting chefs.

The First Prept. Ambassador

As ambassador, Delport will help drive Prept’s mission of bringing immersive food education to children and young people across the UK. His involvement includes:

  • Acting as a spokesperson at events and within hospitality networks
  • Delivering inspiring masterclasses and talks in schools
  • Creating engaging content such as recipe videos and tutorials
  • Supporting key events, including Prept’s gala at Skills for Chefs in June 2025
  • Advising on Prept’s programme development

“I’m honoured to join Prept. Foundation as an ambassador,” said Delport. “Cooking changed my life, and I want young people to experience the same joy, confidence, and opportunity that food can bring.”

Founded in 2020 as Table Talk Foundation and rebranded in 2024, Prept. delivers food education in primary and secondary schools, helping to build essential life skills, improve health, and open pathways into hospitality – an industry in urgent need of fresh talent.

Delport’s Restaurant Interlude, located on a stunning 240-acre estate, holds a Michelin Star, Green Star, and 3 AA Rosettes.

His seasonal, locally inspired dishes reflect the values Prept. aims to share with the next generation.

Prept. is a national food education charity co-founded by Daniel Wade, Jessica Aggarwal and Tom Surgey in 2020. Originally launched as Table Talk Foundation and based in Sussex, the charity rebranded in 2024 with the goal of taking its programmes nationwide.
