Roedean Cafe

Roedean Cafe is a great value family run cafe sandwiched between Brighton and Rottingdean. With stunning sea views, indoor and outdoor seating, this art deco café is the perfect pit stop for a traditional full english, a light snack, hearty lunch or a simple cuppa while gazing out over the English Channel.

Why you’ll love Roeadean Cafe

Roedean Cafe doesn’t proclaim to be much more than a classic transport cafe…but we think they are being a little modest. On the coastal road out of Brighton towards Rottingdean you’ll find this fabulous pit stop. Great food, great views, free parking – and a mini golf course too.

Roedean Cafe is run by husband and wife team Poul & Sammy, and coming up for their 10th year of owning this art deco wonder by the sea. The venue is a big step up from a greasy spoon, Poul’s experience as a top chef in places like River Cafe, elevates the classic fry up by using great quality ingredients, cooked well. There’s more, Roedean Cafe is not just for breakfast and brunch, their lunch offerings have had a makeover with so many menu pleasers that will bring in a hungry lunch crowd seeking diner favourites, as well as some classic cafe great value eats.

In addition to the great food and drink offerings, Roedean Cafe is home to a 16-hole mini golf course. It’s a challenging but fun course with incredible views open to play from 8am to dusk. Even when the weather’s not quite on point, you’ll find small or large groups pitching and putting over this stretch. It makes Roedean Cafe a great destination for celebrations – although the venue isn’t for hire, they can accommodate large groups who like an activity after their fry-up. You don’t need to eat at the cafe to play mini golf, there’s a side hatch where you collect your clubs, ball and scorecard.

Roedean Cafe are host to the London to Brighton Classic Car Run in June and September and The Brighton Mod Weekender in August bank holiday. It’s a sight to behold as hundreds of cars and bikes take up the car park and the golf green. It’s free to come along, but maybe think about jumping on a bus or walking along to take part in the revelry.

RB loves

One of the RB team plays mini golf badly, but with the promise of a great breakfast afterwards, they make their way enthusiastically round the green. It’s a brilliant day out.
