Restaurant Brighton's guide to
Bonfire Night and Firework Displays in Brighton and Sussex
Brighton Bonfires & Fireworks 2025: Where to Watch, What to Expect, and How to Make a Night of It
Autumn in Brighton, Hove and Sussex means one thing – Bonfire Night! Expect dazzling firework displays, towering bonfires, and the scent of toffee apples and smoke drifting through the air. From Brighton and Hove to Worthing and Arundel, Sussex revels in its rebellious spirit with fire, food, beer and friends – remembering war heroes, historic martyrs and the infamous Guy Fawkes.
The legendary Lewes Bonfire is the most extraordinary in the country, complete with flaming torches, burning barrels and political effigies. But if you’re not local, it’s best admired from afar – travel and access are extremely limited. Hopefully, Lewes will be streaming the celebrations again this year. Either way – there are plenty more to choose from…

Food & Drink
Here’s our pick of the bonfire bunch – and we wouldn’t be Restaurants Brighton if we didn’t suggest pairing your adventure with some sensational grub. From classic bangers and mash to indulgent sticky toffee pudding, we know just where to go for hearty comfort food and a pint of Harvey’s Bonfire Boy to warm you up.
We wunt be druv!- but we do like a good recommendation!
