Why you’ll like Open Bakery Queens Park:
Since June 2021, the charming Open Bakery at Queen’s Park has resided in a former public toilet, now transformed into a cosy Brighton café that invites park-goers to relax with coffee and fresh pastries while enjoying the leafy surroundings.
What’s on the Menu at Open Bakery Queens Park
Each morning begins with freshly delivered breads from their Kemptown bakery, while onsite Brighton bakers craft golden croissants, pain au chocolat and savoury sausage rolls. Everything is made from scratch daily in the pastry kitchen, where four chefs create over 400 items, and the stone-decked oven ensures crisp, flavourful and iconic Brighton artisan loaves, tarts, and quiches reach the counters of Open Bakery Queens Park and Kemptown straight from the oven.
A Park Full of Charm
Queen’s Park is a perfect destination: a stunning green space with open lawns, a playful children’s area, and a duck-filled pond. It’s dog- and child-friendly, ideal for walks, feeding the ducks, or meandering through pretty paths before grabbing a pastry on the raised decking overlooking the park.
Why You Should Visit
A delight for all – whether you’re there for a park stroll, a family outing, or rainy-day refuge, it’s a bright, welcoming spot. The same delicious, artisan breads and pastries as Kemptown, but with a tranquil setting and intimate atmosphere. Ingenious reuse – it’s a brilliantly repurposed space, blending history, sustainability, and great baking. Ethical and local – ingredients are sourced from Brighton and Sussex growers wherever possible, with strong environmental values underpinning every bake.
