The North Star Brighton | A Stylish Gastro Pub with a Social Purpose
More than just a place to eat, The North Star is a pub with a purpose. It combines a high-quality gastro pub experience with a mission to change lives, serving as a flagship venue for Team Domenica.
A Menu for Food Lovers
At The North Star, the culinary experience is centred around a vibrant open kitchen, where diners can watch the chefs at work producing freshly cooked meals. The kitchen serves delicious, homemade food everyday between 12pm and 9pm.

The seasonal menu is changed weekly to reflect the best available produce. Starters might include Salt and Pepper Squid, Slow Braised Rib, Celeriac Schnitzel, or a smooth Chicken Liver Parfait.
For mains, the venue offers elevated pub classics and impressive sharing dishes. Visitors can enjoy the signature North Star Burger, an indulgent Steak Diane (300g Ribeye), or Beer Battered Fish and Chips. The kitchen also specialises in great sharing plates, such as hearty Pies and a rich Bouillabaisse, making it a perfect spot for communal dining.

The Sunday Roast
Sundays at The North Star are an event in themselves. Served between 12pm and 4pm, their Brighton Sunday roast menu features top-tier British produce. Options often include White Park Sirloin of Beef, South Downs Leg of Lamb, Somerset Saxon Chicken Breast, and Maple Glazed Pork Loin.

RB loves, for larger groups, the Whole South Downs Braised Lamb Shoulder is a showstopper, serving 4 to 5 people. Vegetarians are well catered for with dishes like the Squash and Chestnut Wellington.
A Dedicated Children’s Menu
Younger diners are well catered for at The North Star with a delicious Children’s Menu. For just £10, little ones can enjoy favourites like Sausages or Fishfingers with chips and peas, a North Star Brighton Burger, or Penne Pasta. On Sundays, a smaller roast is also available for £10, featuring Beef, Lamb, Chicken, or Wellington.

Open Minds, Open Doors
What makes this venue special is its commitment to social impact. The North Star is part of Team Domenica, a charity supporting people with learning disabilities and autism—their candidates—to gain meaningful employment.
From Spring 2026, The North Star will operate as a fully-fledged training centre. Candidates will receive hands-on hospitality training within the pub, equipping them for meaningful employment going forward. It is a venue where young people gain vital real-world skills while the wider community enjoys exceptional food, drink, and service.

Interiors, Private Parties, and Accessibility
The venue itself is stylish and versatile, featuring tall tables, relaxed sofas, and a wonderful alfresco terrace with stunning views of the Royal Pavilion. Inside, the very popular booths seat up to 8 people, making them ideal for business lunches or private parties.
Accessibility is a priority at The North Star. The pub features double-width doors for disabled access and a stairlift to the elevated area, ensuring full access to dining spaces and disabled toilets. It is also dog friendly, providing water bowls for well-behaved dogs in the main lounge.
