Who’s got the best wine list, Brighton? We asked and you answered – in your tens of thousands! A well curated wine list is a thing of beauty – sharing knowledge, and showing consideration and sensitivity while also reserving the right to surprise. And the winner of the BRAVO for Best Wine List goes to – Fourth and Church. Huge congratulations to the team.
First place
The shelves of this Hove restaurant, wine shop and deli are stacked deep with exciting bottles of wonderful wine and many are available by the glass. The staff are highly knowledgeable and happy to take the time to help you make an informed decision. You could choose the chef’s tasting menu with its clever wine pairings for a delicious treat. Fourth and Church loves wine, and works with winemakers who care about their vines and produce. It will come as no surprise to anyone that’s been there that they’ve won the top spot.
Second place
A neighbourhood restaurant at heart, Wild Flor describes itself as ‘well cellared’ and you all agree. Aiming to serve the best wines they can find, and demonstrating their love for Burgundy, the Rhone and Piedmont, their list tours the globe offering surprising back vintages and rare bottles plus delicious accessible options which perfectly compliment their classic cookery and best local produce. The team is always on hand with helpful advice. Wild Flor’s wine list is a blooming marvel.
Third place
This restaurant and bar in Brighton’s historic Lanes, offers a unique selection of natural wines on their carefully considered list. With a particular focus on low intervention wines, this list is really rather special. There are super tasty small plates, showcasing the freshest seasonal produce from Sussex to go with your glass. Originality, quality and cool in a winning combination.
