Why you’ll like Irori Street Food
Authentic, flame-seared yakitori, crispy karaage, and comforting izakaya staples arrive courtesy of Brighton’s first and only Japanese street food truck, Irori.

Brought to life by Chef Koji – who boasts over 25 years of experience cooking in kitchens across Tokyo, New York, Paris, and London – Irori delivers the authentic spirit of Japanese yatai (traditional mobile food stalls) directly to the south coast. It is a celebration of casual, high-quality street dining designed to make people happy through exceptional, fast-served flavour.

Food at Irori Brighton
The menu at Irori centres on timeless street-food classics, cooked with precision over real charcoal inside the truck. The signature yakitori features chicken and vegetables turned by hand over flaming embers, a technique Koji mastered on the streets of Tokyo.

Visitors can also dive into golden, crispy chicken karaage, a Japanese drinking staple tied to memories of sharing good food with friends, or enjoy a bowl of Japanese potato salad, lightly seasoned and perfect alongside a cold beer. The rotating menu regularly features heartier options like prawn or pork katsu curry over rice, chicken oyakodon, pork katsu sandos, tempura, and chicken or salmon teriyaki.

Drinks at Irori Brighton
Irori stocks a focused lineup of authentic Japanese beverages curated to pair with the rich, smoky flavours of charcoal-grilled food. Highlights include Hitachino Nest, one of Japan’s most celebrated craft ales brewed in Ibaraki Prefecture, available alongside traditional cup sake and a selection of imported Japanese soft drinks.
