Brighton Bonfires & Fireworks 2026: Where to Watch, What to Expect, and How to Make a Night of It

Autumn in Brighton, Hove and Sussex means one thing – Bonfire Night! Expect dazzling firework displays, towering bonfires, and the scent of toffee apples and smoke drifting through the air. From Brighton and Hove to Worthing and Arundel, Sussex revels in its rebellious spirit with fire, food, beer and friends – remembering war heroes, historic martyrs and the infamous Guy Fawkes.

The legendary Lewes Bonfire is the most extraordinary in the country, complete with flaming torches, burning barrels and political effigies. But if you’re not local, it’s best admired from afar – travel and access are extremely limited. Hopefully, Lewes will be streaming the celebrations again this year. Either way – there are plenty more to choose from…

26 September	Buxted Bonfire Night	Join the torchlit procession before the bonfire is lit, with fireworks rounding off the evening.
26 September	Burgess Hill Bonfire Night	Head to Fairfield Recreation Ground for an evening of processions, a traditional bonfire and fireworks at 9.45pm.
3 October	Northiam Bonfire Night	A torchlit procession winds its way down Main Street before the evening comes to a close with fireworks.
3 October	Rotherfield & Mark Cross Bonfire Night	Carnival Night brings together colourful floats, music, a procession and plenty of traditional bonfire festivities.
3 October	Eastbourne Bonfire Society	Marking its 25th anniversary, Eastbourne’s torchlit procession welcomes visiting societies before a giant bonfire and free seafront fireworks.
17 October	East Grinstead Bonfire Night	Expect a torchlit parade through the town followed by a traditional bonfire and fireworks.
17 October	Hastings Bonfire Night	A spectacular torchlit procession, drumming, bonfire and effigy lead into a Grand Finale firework display on the beach.
24 October	Horsham Fireworks	Enjoy an evening of fireworks at Horsham Sports Club alongside fairground rides, food stalls and a large beer tent.
24 October	Firle Bonfire	A torchlit procession through the village leads to the bonfire and fireworks on the playing fields, with food, a bar and free parking available.
24 October	Littlehampton Bonfire Night	Following a War Memorial Service, a spectacular torchlit procession brings marching bands, floats and visiting societies through the town before seafront fireworks.
24 October	Ardingly South of England Showground Fireworks	Head to the showground for an evening of fairground fun, a children’s display and a main firework spectacular from Illusion Fireworks.
2 November	Hove Sussex Cricket Fireworks Night	Fireworks Night returns to Hove Cricket Ground for an evening of family entertainment, with tickets supporting the Sussex Cricket Foundation.
5 November	Lindfield Bonfire	A torchlit procession begins at 7.30pm before the bonfire is lit at 8.15pm, with donations supporting local charities.
5 November	Lewes Bonfire Night	One of Sussex’s most famous bonfire celebrations fills the town with torchlit processions, traditional costumes, bonfires, fireworks and fire displays across the evening.
5 November, TBC	Worthing Fireworks	Enjoy free fireworks on Worthing seafront at 7.30pm, alongside a fun fair and food stalls, with donations welcomed.
7 November	Cuckfield Park Fireworks	Set in the grounds of Cuckfield Park, the evening features a huge bonfire followed by a professionally choreographed firework display set to music.
7 November	Battle Bonfire Night	Discover Battle’s distinctive bonfire traditions, with a procession and fireworks alongside the town’s historic effigy, which dates back to the 18th century.
7 November	Wadhurst Fireworks	Wadhurst Warriors host an evening at Stone Cross Farm with a bar, BBQ and a spectacular fireworks display.
14 November, TBC	Rye Bonfire	Rye’s bonfire celebrations bring a torchlit procession through the streets before the main display, with road closures and parking restrictions in place.
