HarBAR + Kitchen at Harbour Hotel Brighton

Why You’ll Like HarBAR + Kitchen

Brighton’s seafront makes a fine backdrop for lunch, and HarBAR Brighton + Kitchen puts you right beside it. Inside Harbour Hotel on Kings Road, this relaxed restaurant and bar looks out towards the beach and Palace Pier, with folding doors opening up the frontage on warmer days.

For locals, it’s an easy place to build into a day in town: lunch after a seaside stroll, afternoon tea with friends or cocktails before heading out. HarBAR Brighton combines familiar seaside favourites with dishes for sharing, giving you plenty of ways to make yourself comfortable.

Food at HarBAR + Kitchen

The restaurant menu moves between seafood, burgers, steaks and stone-baked sourdough pizzas. Start with crispy squid accompanied by lemon, chilli and garlic aioli, or burrata with tomatoes, green olive oil and basil.

For something more substantial, there’s beer-battered fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce, alongside prawn linguine with chilli, garlic and lemon. The HarBAR Smashed Burger brings together double beef patties, mature Cheddar, crispy onion and pickles.

Plant-based choices include harissa-roasted cauliflower with butter beans and coriander yoghurt. Pizza dough is fermented for 48 hours, with vegetarian and vegan-adaptable options among the toppings.

There’s also a playful departure from the usual afternoon tea. The Brighton Pier-inspired Funfair Afternoon Tea mixes miniature savouries with sweet treats, including mini cheeseburgers, doughnut balls and candy floss.

Drinks at HarBAR Brighton + Kitchen

Cocktails are part of the appeal, backed by a selection of beers and artisan spirits. Settle in for an aperitif or make drinks the main occasion.

The wine list travels widely, with white, red and rosé choices alongside Champagne and English sparkling wines. Sussex producers include Court Garden and Weyborne Estate, giving you an opportunity to raise a glass to something closer to home. A non-alcoholic sparkling rosé is listed too.

Restaurant tables and cosy sofas give the space room for both a proper meal and a leisurely drink. The sea-facing setting suits daytime catch-ups, while evenings offer a base for dinner and cocktails.
