Jo and Co is a popular restaurant in Hove serving an all day menu. Starting the day with their fabulous brunch dishes, then lunch being available from 12pm. On Friday and Saturdays Jo and Co stays open until 9pm for evening diners to enjoy dinner.

The Jo and Co Story

Husband and wife owners Jo and Pete started their vision for Jo and Co in 2018. Having previously worked as directors for numerous nationwide restaurants, they decided to take a leap to open up their own restaurant in Brighton and haven’t looked back. 

Jo and Co is situated in Hove, they’ve made a mark with a loyal customer base and were the winners of 2022 BRAVO award for best team. The restaurant is packed out every weekend, their locals even have their favourite spots. Jo and Pete will nine times out of ten be at the restaurant if you visit, so much so their regulars find it unusual not to see them! It may sound a bit of a cliche but it really is a home from home for Jo and Pete. 

When we asked Pete what it is that keeps people coming back for more, he said it’s down to consistency, something they’ve worked hard on right from the start. Whether it’s the consistent quality of the food, service, atmosphere or the staff – who have been there from day one and makes the restaurant feel even more welcoming with familiar faces to greet you.

Inside Jo and Co

The restaurant is filled with lots of natural light and stylish botanical themed furnishings with lush greenery. Through to the back of the restaurant it opens up with plenty of light beaming through the skylights. There’s also seating upstairs and the whole back part of Jo and Co can be hired out for a private party.

Eating and drinking

Jo and Co’s menu is served all day and on Friday and Saturday’s can be enjoyed in the evening. With plenty to choose from including their brunch dishes, then later at 12pm their sandwiches, salads, and main courses are available for a leisurely lunch or date night on a Friday or Saturday. 

The menu is inspired by Jo and Pete’s travels around New Zealand where they found everywhere they would eat, the restaurants and cafes were always so welcoming and inviting. They wanted to emulate this into Jo and Co when they opened it.

They work with many local suppliers, supporting local and using the freshest, best quality ingredients, a few to name include The Flour Pot Bakery, Macs Farm, Brighton Sausage Company, and many more. Jo is a real foodie and she writes the menus which change seasonally, then their dream team in the kitchen turn her ideas into delightful dishes for everyone to enjoy. 

Jo and Co’s all day menu – brunch

You will find their all day menu available until 3pm every day except Friday and Saturday’s where they’re open in the evening. In the daytime you’ll find happy guests making their way through the brunch menu which is available until 3pm. This includes some classics like Eggs Benedict, Buttermilk Pancakes or Jo’s Full. You can even opt for a mimosa, or aperol to make it a boozy brunch! Or if you’re celebrating you might be interested in their popular Bubbles Brunch – any brunch and a bottle of prosecco at a set price – this goes down well with hen parties! 

Lunch

From 12pm the rest of their menu is available which includes their delicious salads and sandwiches which are ideal for a light lunch. The Asparagus, Broccoli and Halloumi Salad sounds fresh and flavoursome, or there’s the mouthwatering Philly Steak Sandwich with sliced steak, onions, raclette cheese, and mustard mayo in toasted sourdough – yes please! Friday and Saturday Dinner

On Friday and Saturday’s Jo and Co is open until 9pm for guests to enjoy dinner. The mains include dishes such as Sea Bass, Jo’s Raclette Burger, and Crispy Spiced Cauliflower. The sharers and sides have a fab selection too which go perfectly with a glass of wine or cocktail. We love the sound of the Baked Brie with Garlic, Hazelnuts and Sourdough, Crispy Fresh Pasta or the Marmalade Prawns. Then finish your meal off with Jo’s Creme Brulee or Chocolate Fudge Brownie to satisfy that sweet tooth.

To accompany your food, there’s a lovely selection of wines, along with a few beers and ciders. Jo and Co’s fantastic cocktail menu is split into categories including Spritz’s, Marg’s, Tini’s, Classics and Mocktails – something for everyone.

For all of the family

Children are absolutely welcome, there’s a kids menu which includes scrumptious dishes for the little ones including pancakes or a build your own breakfast. For something later in the day there’s plenty of dishes for lunch and dinner too. Jo and Co are kitted out with everything you and the littl’uns need for a meal out, with plenty of high chairs, changing facilities and colouring books to keep them entertained.

Jo and Co is 100% dog friendly! They are dog obsessed with having two of their own which you may see around. They even offer a dog survival kit for any furry friends that visit so they have their very own dog bowl and treats to join in the fun. 

Sunny Terrace

Situated in the busy Hove area on Church Road. They’re on the south-facing side so get lovely sun for sitting outside on their terrace. The terrace seats up to 12 people and is very sought after which is offered on a first come first serve basis.

Book a celebration

You can celebrate with friends and family at Jo and Co. Their light and airy space at the back of the restaurant with an upstairs mezzanine area is available for private parties. It can accommodate up to 50 people or if you were looking to hire the whole restaurant, this has the capacity for up to 220 people.
