Tamarind Brighton

Northern Thai specialities & Thai-inspired cocktails on Preston Street.

Why you’ll like Tamarind Brighton

Preston Street has long been one of the city’s best-known destinations for international dining, and Tamarind Brighton is the newest Thai restaurant in Brighton to join this vibrant food scene. Although new, its story is rooted in experience and heritage because Tamarind Brighton is the latest addition to the Chilli family, a beloved institution in the city, with the front of house and kitchen team led by the family who ran the restaurant’s previous incarnation, Kanok. This mighty combination makes Tamarind a dining destination that brings warm personality and authentic cooking, that balances familiar Thai favourites with regional specialities, all within a beautiful space.

Tamarind co-owner Fon has a real flair for interiors, and the restaurant reflects it beautifully. Many of the finishing touches, including the ceiling decorations to the statement wallpaper, were hand-picked during a recent trip to visit family in Thailand and carefully squeezed into suitcases for the journey back to Brighton.
