Brought to life by Chef Koji – who boasts over 25 years of experience cooking in kitchens across Tokyo, New York, Paris, and London – Irori delivers the authentic spirit of Japanese yatai (traditional mobile food stalls) directly to the south coast. It is a celebration of casual, high-quality street dining designed to make people happy through exceptional, fast-served flavour.

Food at Irori Brighton

The menu at Irori centres on Japanese street-food favourites, with signature chicken and vegetable yakitori cooked over real charcoal. Order the skewers on their own or try yakitori don, served over rice with a seasoned egg and a padrón pepper. There’s plenty beyond the grill too: golden chicken karaage, crisp prawn or seasonal vegetable tempura, and warming katsu curries with a choice of chicken, pork, prawn, tofu or vegetable croquettes.

At venues and events with an earlier start, look out for their breakfast sandos. These Japanese milk-bread sandwiches come filled with a crispy pork cutlet, cabbage, mustard and homemade sauce, or creamy chopped egg with Kewpie mayonnaise.

Round things off with Japanese potato salad, tangy coleslaw, sesame spinach or nasu dengaku – soft aubergine glazed with white miso and topped with sesame seeds. Check their online menu for the full selection and current prices.

Drinks at Irori Brighton

Irori’s Japanese drinks selection makes a fitting companion to its charcoal-grilled food. Choose from Hitachino Nest craft beer, traditional cup sake and imported Japanese soft drinks, or try the chilled oolong and green teas for a refreshing alcohol-free option.
