Why you’ll like Shoreline Cafe

Shoreline Cafe is your new favourite neighbourhood hangout – or it should be. If you don’t happen to live round the corner to this cool cafe it’s well worth the trip to West Hove to experience everything it has to offer.

This friendly independent cafe and kitchen brings a dose of Californian sunshine to our city – influenced by a road trip owners Louise and Dariush took a few years ago “Our heart is California, our soul is in Portugal, and our location is here in Hove”. The cafe followed on from the success of Shoreline Stores – their community focused shop celebrating and selling great food, great produce and great natural wines, stocking up goods from local suppliers. The same ethos runs through the comfortable and chic coastal Shoreline Cafe. They offer breakfast, brunch and lunch which is homemade hearty food, healthy and interesting, with divine cakes if you need a touch of sweetness. The menu brings great balance and choice and tastes as good as it looks. Nourishment is key so whether you choose to fuel yourself with knockout coffee or a revitalising smoothie, they’ll have the perfect thing just for you.

Shoreline Cafe is located on Hove’s coastal road – it’s light, bright, stylish and a real hub of the community. They have a fabulous front terrace, the perfect spot for gathering on a sunny day or grabbing a much needed coffee post dog walk…and the prime location for the visiting pop up food trucks that are hosted at Shoreline.

Collaborations

The heart and soul of Shoreline Cafe lies in community and collaboration. Louise and Dariush’s concept was to showcase local suppliers while nourishing their customers in the cafe. Their other quite brilliant plan was to host regular collaborations with local food and wine folk. Keep an eye on their events because on certain days, once the cafe doors close, a transformation occurs. Expect brilliant pop ups, supper clubs, workshops, wine tastings and quality vibes from these super hosts. It’s a great way to introduce more fantastic feasts to this corner of Hove and it’s most welcome.

RB LOVES

A mid-morning moment to fuel through the rest of the day. Drink of choice – oat milk latte (with a Milkshed blend) and a little freshly baked something for sustenance. We admit it’s difficult to resist popping into their stores next door, but you always find something exciting, especially on the wall of wine.
