WHY YOU’LL LIKE THE WHITE HORSES ROTTINGDEAN

Welcome to the White Horses Rottingdean. The stunning bright hotel bar and Sussex restaurant of the White Horses is the most wonderful setting for gathering to eat and drink. The bonus of being a hotel is all day dining is available to everyone  –  blissful breakfast, languid lunches, and dinners that delight can suit every occasion. Their menus celebrate a love for quintessentially British dishes, putting local, regional and seasonal ingredients at the forefront. The passionate chef and kitchen team bring finesse to all the classics, as well as adding a bit of theatre to some of their signature dishes. Of course the terraces at the White Horses lends itself to the perfect sunny day, sipping cocktails as the sun beats down – but inside the open plan restaurant brings the outside in. BREAKFAST

Whether you’re lucky enough to stay the night, or just in need of nourishing scrambled eggs and coffee after the morning dog walk, the breakfast menu has all the favourites to start your day well. The full English, both classic and vegetarian, have a glorious addition of a sweet potato samphire hash brown – a nod to the neighbouring sea and a delightful combo. There are vegan options, eggs all ways and porridge with fresh berries. The continental breakfast is choca with buttery pastries, cereals, toast and spreads. Hot drinks, juices and a cheeky selection of morning cocktails. Breakfast is served from 7am til 10:30 am Monday to Friday and a half hour later at the weekends.

LUNCH

Monday to Saturday the White Horses Rottingdean serves up a lunch to suit all moods from 11am. A quick Toastie and Latte to fuel your work day. Perhaps a leisurely lunch on the terrace with friends eating Cider Battered Fish and Chips, or a pre beach family feast sharing Sourdough Pizzas or Sussex Baked Camembert festooned with dippables. If a grand lunch is on the cards, push the boat out and indulge in one of the Signature Seafood Platters  – a theatrical feast where there’s an option to go big with an additional half lobster! If you just want the vibes but no food, the liquid lunch options are endless. Prop yourself up at the stylish bar and let the team of friendly staff get you exactly what you need.

DINNER

Should we start with the side dish option of Truffle Mac and Cheese? The White Horses Rottingdean menu is made to catch your attention and with that sensational side alone it’s done the job well. The Dinner Menu is abundant with classic seaside destination favourites, showcasing a host of amazing seafood dishes from warming Chowder to Whole Crab Rarebit – and those Signature Platters are available all day and evening. The warming Irish Soda Bread with caviar, butter and dips is one of the most pleasing introductions to your evening meal, take it from me – but there is a host of delicate dishes for starters to choose from. For meat lovers the Beach Club Burger is already competing for best burger status in the South, Roast Corn Fed Chicken with a divine Crispy Layered Potato Cake, Lamb Rump that melts in the mouth and Rib Eye Steak served with a succulent Roasted Bone Marrow and Beef Dripping Chips. Seafood linguines, salads, soups and sides appeal to those craving a lighter touch. Pair any of these dishes with a curated cocktail from the Discovery Bar, or a bottle of local English Sparkling Wine from one of the flourishing Sussex Vineyards.

DRINKS

The White Horses Rottingdean is a fabulous drinks destination, whether you simply want an excellent cup of coffee with an exquisite view, a quiet pint, a couple of glasses of wine or a night out sampling the amazing cocktail menu. Their super stylish bar is stocked full of regional gems on seasonal rotation from Goldstone Rum to barrels of Local Ale, along with firm favourites hard or soft. We have no doubt this bar will be buzzing over the summer months, full of tourists, revellers, locals, day trippers, families, friends and couples – post holidays this will be the most special ‘local’ … and by local, I mean all of us lucky enough to live within a 10 mile radius. Cheers to that.
