Best places to eat in Brighton – International Cuisine

We wanted you to tell us about the best places to eat in Brighton that transport you to another land. International cuisine celebrates Brighton’s diverse culture and the unifying power of good food. Since some of the best places to eat in Brighton are pop-ups and stalls serving authentic international street food, we opened this category up to them too.

Visit Brighton sponsors Best International Cuisine in the 2019 BRAVO awards. Forget your passport, forget check-in times just eat your way through these winners to go somewhere special.

1st place

Kujira’s robatayaki grill was introduced to Brighton late 2018, and you were eager to get your teeth into their marinated meats and vegetables cooked over a flameless coal grill and served small plate style. The basement karaoke cocktail bar and space-aged manga loos all helped seal the fantasy in transporting you to a sleek Tokyo izakaya bar, but without the lousy 15-hour flight or jet-lag.

2nd place

It’s clear that when the people of Brighton want to get away from it all Preston Street is the primary destination. Bincho Yakitori’s back to basics izakaya bar wins second place; offering a rustic street food experience of sharing skewers cooked over a flame grill and forgoing anything fancy for an opportunity to introduce more flavour.

3rd place

Brighton institution, The Chilli Pickle, comes in third place for Best International. Inspired by the railway vendors across the vast continent, The Chilli Pickle had you travelling the Vivek Express from the comfort of their award-winning Brighton restaurant or engaging in some ‘travelling without moving’ with their home delivery Railway Tray.
