The gorgeous roof terrace is sheltered from the wind with wooden decked walls, and an adjustable overhead shelter should you need a little cover from the sun. Blankets and heaters are also at hand should the temperature drop before you’re ready to retire indoors. There’s a roof terrace menu of small nibbly bits, including locally baked bread from The Flour Pot Bakery, to keep you going as you sip your way through the drink selection.

Inside the restaurant is deceptively large and darkly lit creating the sort of space that crosses over from dining to drinking effortlessly.

The menu at Socialite Brighton

As you would expect, the menu at Socialite edges on the side of lavish. There’s a fine line between decadent and extravagant and Socialite walks it well.

For starters pick from mouth-watering options such as soft shell crab sliders or spicy prawns with chorizo aioli. Onto mains and the steak and grill menu sources Sussex Red breed beef, other mains include pan-fried chicken Kiev, lobster linguine and wild mushroom tortellini.

There are a few carefully thought out options for vegetarians and vegans but much more becomes available if you give them advance notice. The same is true if you require gluten-free options.

Reasons to get social

Every Tuesday there’s live jazz and blues and two dine for £40 every Tuesday and Wednesday. Keep an eye on the Socialite website for bottomless brunch events, including bottomless Champagne or prosecco options.
