Inspired by the owners’ travels, especially to New Zealand and Australia, this light, bright café-restaurant in Hove is the ultimate family destination. Renowned for indulgent brunches, fresh menu ideas, and a welcoming atmosphere, Jo & Co goes above and beyond to ensure everyone feels at home. There’s a dedicated children’s menu featuring fun ‘build your own pancakes’ and plenty more kid-pleasing dishes, plus colouring books and activities to keep little ones occupied while parents relax. High chairs and changing facilities are on hand if needed too.

The first thing that draws families to The Ladies Mile is how genuinely welcome they feel. There’s no sense that kids are an afterthought at this friendly, family-run pub. Designed with the community in mind, it has a spacious garden with a play area where little ones can enjoy hours of fun and parents can grab some much-deserved R&R. Inside, older children will love the pool table too. The kids’ menu covers all the bases and the dessert menu? Let’s just say there won’t be any complaints!

With over five decades of experience welcoming Brighton families to The Lanes, it’s no surprise that Il Bistro gets it right. Let’s start with the menu…a crowd-pleaseing selection of Italian (and some French) inspired mediterranean classics, the team is happy to suggest kid-friendly options and accommodate their preferences. The cosy dining room, in a historic fisherman’s cottage, will appeal to guests of all ages while the award-winning team makes sure everyone’s very well looked after.
