Perfect For Exploring South Downs
Located in Sayers Common in Hassocks, the ‘Duke’ as it is known, is perfect if you have time to explore the South Downs and it is actually positioned on the old London to Brighton road, a very busy road before the bypass was introduced.
Did you know that Sayers common is an area named after a local hero, one Tom Sayer, a well renowned bare knuckle fighter?
In terms of drinks, there are a wide range of local real ales in this true “free house.”
Duke of York Sayers Common – The Gardens
The pub also boasts two beer gardens, one for families with a fabulous Children’s Play Fort and another for our four legged friends (dog’s that is, although the odd horse does stop by!).
Fresh And Local Ingredients
The Duke offers fabulous home cooked pub classics with a modern twist, using fresh and local ingredients. The Head Chef and his team believe in using local suppliers to create beautiful dishes that appeal to all.
There is a fabulous selection of Specials that change frequently, and a children’s menu for those families visiting. See the Duke of York’s website for up to date menu information: http://www.thedukesayerscommon.co.uk/
