Hello friends,
Here you come again: the so-called “last hurrah of summer” late August Bank Holiday is upon us, which means one final long weekend to squeeze every last drop out of the season. Preferably at a table with friends, something delicious on a plate and a cup of ambition in hand.
And who knows? We might even get an Indian Summer. More on that in a bit.
As of this afternoon, the forecast is looking distinctly British. But water is needed and drizzle might prove reassuringly familiar. In the week that we said goodbye to the incomparable Dolly Parton, we remember one of her most enduring pearls of wisdom:
“If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”
Either way, brunch can last ‘til lunch, roasts can command an entire afternoon, and drinks can be nursed into the night. Viva, Bank Holiday Brighton!
