What to eat in Brighton right now!

You eat with your eyes, so the saying goes, and with the hashtag #foodporn having over 160 million posts on Instagram eating’s not all we appear to be doing. Beautiful food comes and then quickly goes, but a photo can last a lifetime (or not if you’re on Snapchat), so, as a snapshot in time, here’s the dishiest looking dishes in Brighton right now.

Etch, Church Road

Always serving up dishes that look way too good to eat, Etch strike again with this beautiful plate. Cured and blowtorched Mackerel, paired with gooseberry sorbet, fresh gooseberry & watercress puree.

MurMur, The Arches 

A taste of the sea at Murmur. Eat these fabulously fresh Poole Bay oysters overlooking Brighton’s West Pier. Add a glass of crisp white wine? Why not!

The Coal Shed

BBQ’ed pulled pork with pickled red cabbage and gherkins plus a side of beef dripping chips. Meat lovers, rejoice! We may have just found your new favourite burger.

Indian Summer

Onion, Carrot and Potato Pakoda is an Indian Summer favourite. Onion, carrot & potato mixed with gram flour and spices then served with coriander chutney and tamarind sauce. Get involved!

Grow 40

New and improved Grow 40 brings us brunch to die for. A Full English is always a winner and everyone has their own opinion about which is their favourite component. For us its the homemade baked beans served here, they are out of this world!

Latino America

Renowned in Brighton for their fantastic grill menu options, LatinoAmerica also serve delicious puddings. One of our favourites right now is this one, flambé banana served with a rum syrup and ice cream.

Lost Boys Chicken

Partial to a little spice? Lost Boys Chicken deliver every time with full, finger licking flavour and these wings on their summer menu feature a Honey Chipotle sauce. Don’t be shy with these!

Semolina

Lemon Sole, Fregola, Courgette, Sauce Vierge is on the menu at Semolina right now and defines summer flavours perfectly. Light and fresh yet wonderfully satisfying, this dish is not to be missed!

The Walrus Pub

Throw it back to the early Naughties and treat yourself to a Surf ‘N’ Turf, Walrus style! Served with a Greek salad or fries, crispy shallots and rocket and an indulgent green peppercorn sauce this dish is for those with a big appetite. Bon Appetit!

Championing sustainable dining Silo continue to evolve.This is a snap shot of their current menu, featuring Brined Sussex Tomatoes with roses and Brill with Gooseberries and fermented onions.

Terre a Terre pretty much lead the way for Vegetarian dining in Brighton. This fun take on a traditional afternoon tea is described as a ‘3 tier extravaganza’ and is available with Gluten Free and Vegan options too.

The Brighton Beer Dispensary

Dizzy Gull take residency in The Brighton Beer Dispensary kitchen and we can’t get enough. From some of the dirtiest burger in Brighton to the renowned oxtail bites, the menu never disappoints. New on is a lamb shoulder flatbread cooked in cumin butter with green chilli slaw, garlic and herb mayo, sweet chilli sauce, mint and feta.

Cosmic Pizza at The West Hill Tavern serves pizza ‘out of this world’. Check out their BAA-BAA-RELLA for a meat feast while vegans need to try the brilliant SORRY MISS JACKFRUIT!

The Chimney House

This glorious veggie burger is on our ‘To Eat’ list for sure! Beetroot and haricot bean pate with sister Sarah cheese, tomato chutney, salad and mayo. Perfection!

The Urchin

Head to The Urchin for the freshest seafood in town! This new special on the menu sounds like summer in a bowl with soft shell crabs, udon noodles and satay sauce.
