First place - Brighton's Best Restaurant

Burnt Orange’s winning streak continues with a record-breaking third ‘Best Restaurant in Brighton’ win in four years – impressive, considering it only opened its doors in 2021. From its historic coach-house home in the Lanes, Burnt Orange offers a consistently delicious, Mediterranean-inspired menu elevated by wood-fire cooking, lending dishes their distinctive, moreish, smoky flavours. The wine list pairs effortlessly, seasonal cocktails are bright and contemporary, interiors lush, and the team a breath of fresh air – making Burnt Orange a true BRAVO legend.

Second place

Last year’s brilliant winner is this year’s runner-up! terre à terre – a pioneer of vegetarian fine dining – has held its place in the city’s heart for decades. Expertly balancing diner expectations with innovation and sustainability, terre à terre’s vibrant, seasonal, plant-based menu mixes beloved classics with exciting new dishes. An impressive drinks list features outstanding Sussex wines alongside organic and biodynamic wines from further afield, local craft beers, ciders, hand-crafted cocktails, and excellent low/no-alcohol options. A recent stylish revamp further elevates the dining experience, preparing terre à terre for its next exciting chapter.

Storming up the charts into the #3 spot is Embers. Created by an experienced team of passionate food lovers, Embers serves a mouthwatering, live-fire menu designed for sharing. Its lively atmosphere and warm welcome make it perfect for memorable nights with family and friends or for sharing the #1 Best Roast. Lost In The Lanes has emerged resplendent as a fully fledged Brighton restaurant. Taking the best-loved flavours of Western European cuisine, the kitchen creates deeply enjoyable seasonal menus with a range of tasty snacks, small plates to share, and indulgent mains so you can order according to your appetite and always eat well. A thoughtful wine list and deliciously drinkable cocktails mean Lost In The Lanes should be on everyone’s list! 

Lost In The Lanes also won #4 for Sustainability Champion, #4 Best Brunch #3 Best Lunch and #4 Best Team.

FIFTH place

A labour of love and one of the most spectacular restaurants in the city. Brought to Brighton by local chef-legend Dave Mothersill, Furna combines exquisite cooking, an enviable cellar, stunning cocktails, stylish décor, and a team which personifies the best of contemporary British dining. Delicate, delicious flavours and top-quality seasonal ingredients are enhanced by innovative techniques from around the globe, including a ‘library’ of house ferments. Unmissable.

The best restaurant in Brighton at the BRAVOS is decided via a public vote. This means over a 6 week voting period from January to March the public can decide what they think is their best restaurant in Brighton or Hove. Votes in 2025 amounted to 72,911 votes and 724 venues were nominated in the awards. 192 venues were placed in the BRAVO Awards, the placed venues and winners can be seen in the Brighton Restaurant Awards results 2025.

There are an increasing number of vegan restaurants in the Brighton top 20 best restaurants year on year. This year Bonsai Plant Kitchen (vegan) and Terre á Terre (vegetarian) finished in the top 10 and many of Brighton’s best restaurants offer plenty of strong vegan options.

According to the Brighton Restaurant Awards 2025 where there were 72,911 public votes, the most popular restaurant in Brighton right now is Burnt Orange. They have been voted the public favourite in 2025 having also won the accolade of Brighton’s Best Restaurant in two years previously. The top 20 best restaurants can be seen here. terre à terre finished runner up in 2025 having won the best restaurant spot in 2024.

Brighton has a number of chefs who have appeared on Masterchef the Professionals and the Great British Menu they include Steven Edwards from etch. Jean Delport from restaurant Interlude and Michael Bremner from 64 Degrees. Duncan Ray from The Little Fish Market is always highly regarded in the National Restaurant Awards.
