Brighton Restaurant Award winners 2017: Dog Friendly

Who goes above and beyond, making sure Brighton dogs have a lovely time out too? These are the BRAVO 2017 winners but who made it onto the 2018 list?

1. Bucket & Spade (Permanently Closed)

Bucket and Spade are not only one of the most child-friendly spots in town but taking it one step further, the public have voted them their favourite dog friendly venue! Perfect for dropping in after a lovely walk along the beach for a coffee or bite to eat, your pooch will always be welcomed with a friendly pat and maybe even a refreshing drink if you ask Lyle and team nicely…

2. Shepherd & Dog

One of best walks across the South Downs, drop down from Devil’s Dyke to the picturesque village of Fulking and you’ll be right on the doorstep of the Shepherd and Dog pub. You couldn’t feel more out of the city if you tried, with this snug little country pub offering roaring fires, local brews and a delicious, locally sourced menu. Well behaved dogs are welcome and it’s great for a stop off on a weekend stroll. It seems the public agree as they’ve made it to No.2 in our Dog Friendly category!

As the name suggests, the Hare and Hounds pub on Preston Circus is welcoming to dogs of all shapes and sizes with water bowls and dog treats on offer. Boasting a hidden garden area you can also choose to keep the pooch outside for some fresh air, but be sure to head off before things get a little noisier around 9pm on Friday and Saturdays as this is their doggy curfew!
