Vegan Restaurants Near Me
Looking for vegan restaurants near me? Wether you’re new to veganism, or new to Brighton there’s one thing for sure, no vegan need go hungry in this city! Long gone are the days looking on whilst others tuck in to handfuls of nosh, most cafes and restaurants in Brighton offer one or two good vegan options, in addition to which there’s a growing number of exclusively vegan eateries with offerings fit to impress the most ardent meat eater. From fine dining tasting menus to guilty pleasure junk food, plant based eating has never been so good!
Nothing but plant
For exclusively vegan there’s plenty to choose from, Purezza on St James’ Street is the UK’s first entirely plant based pizza restaurant, in an almost permanent state of being at capacity the wait to be seated is well worth it. Further down in Poole Valley Happy Maki are the geniuses behind burrito sized sushi with plenty of tempeh, soy and fresh vegetables and not a fin, feather or tail in sight.
Beelzebab has taken naughty fast food and made it vegan, with two venues currently serving devilishly good American classics. The Hope and Ruin on Queens Road is home to Beelzebab’s vegan kebabs, hot dogs and loaded fries whilst East Street Tap, near the Palace Pier serves burgers. Just a stones throw away on Little East Street is vegan rock pub The Pipeline with kitchen by V-Bites.
In the North Laine Loving Hut offers a mix of traditional cafe fare along side Asian style meals. For those looking for cleaner living The Long House on York Place and The Laine Deli both serve more traditional whole food menus, favouring tofu, lentils and grains over fake meat or meat substitute meals.
The best of the rest
For some finer dining that’s all vegetarian with great vegan variations Terre a Terre and Food For Friends, both in The Lanes are long standing favourites, both offering sophisticated modern dining. Vegetarian pub The Duke of York in the North Laine serves traditional pub fare minus the meat and a cracking selection of Sunday roasts. Check out our vegan Roasts here.
