Best pubs in Brighton | BRAVO 2023 BEST LOCAL
Having one of the best pubs in Brighton on your doorstep probably adds a fortune to your house price or rent. And well it should – what more does one need? (ok – maybe a few other things…) Your personal loyalty to your local might be strong but what makes it the best is friendly staff, great beer, delicious pub grub and fun events in perfect combination. And the winner of the BRAVO for Best Local goes to – The Edinburgh (“The Eddy”). Huge congratulations to the team.
First place
The Edinburgh (The Eddy)
Affectionately known as “The Eddy”, The Edinburgh has won the BRAVO for Best Local by serving up the perfect package – perfectly poured pints, live music, sports and super events for the local community. A real home from home, “The Eddy” is tucked away in the streets behind Brighton Station. Full of character – and characters – the friendly, charismatic team will give you a warm welcome when you visit, and visit you must!
Second place
There is no doubt that you’ll feel you’ve earned that first pint after the thirst-inducing climb to the top of Hanover’s Southover Street and one of Brighton’s best pubs. Haus on The Hill is regularly found at the top of the BRAVOs Best Local list with its delicious brew selection from award-winning local craft brewery – Brighton Bier – an excellent menu of mouthwatering Caribbean food. Haus on The Hill also serves up one of the Best Roasts (BRAVO #3) in the city. The team is cheery and welcoming, the soundtrack is 90s classics, the pub is family and dog friendly and, if Haus on the Hill happens to be your actual local, we salute your brilliant decision making.
Third place
A local for all seasons – The Signalman boasts an open fire and cosy corners to hide yourself away in during winter and two sunny beer gardens for drinking alfresco Brighton during the summer months. This pub is right in the heart of the local community – welcoming punters to enjoy their great selection of beer and wine with some super tasty pub grub. The Signalman’s menu features small plates, loaded burgers and ‘sinner fries’ and of course, there’s a proper good roast on Sunday. You’ll find The Signalman right where it should be, by London Road Station.
